What the walkthrough covers

Start with device placement on the house plan. The speaker, video and window-treatment chapters show how different systems fit into the same drawing. Equipment counts build as devices are placed.

Control and voice devices, cameras and the surround builder cover more of the room-by-room layout. Field notes keep installation details on the drawing, while conduits describe the routes between infrastructure points.

The final chapters cover views and sharing: focus a drawing on the systems a trade needs, then present the plan to the client or crew. The shared presentation includes the cover, legend and plan sheets.

Try the workflow on your own project

Bring a PDF, PNG or JPEG floor plan. Set the drawing scale, place devices, check the equipment counts and export a PDF or CSV. See the workflow for AV and smart home integrators for more on pre-wire, field changes and handoff.
